Update

Hey people,

It's been a long time since i last bloged and i would like to say sorry i've just been soooo busy and i haven't been able to actually sit at a computer long enough to write a blog.

So I'm going to use this blog to cover a few of the things that have been going on since i last bloged.



First of all i have to start with the major one the US Election; i was sooo proud when Mr Obama became the first Black US President, this inspired me so much and i hope we can achieve something like that in the UK! Good luck to Obama and i really hope he steps up to the mark.



Now the next topic of discussion is the Urban Music Awards (UMA). They we're held on Saturday 15th November 08 and i have to say they didn't go down to well. The level of organisation was not great and nobody seemed to know what they we're doing or what was going on. To top it all off the event got cut short 90mins in after something kicked off and two people end up getting stabbed. Now i was really hoping that the UMAs this year would be good and that we would have something to celebrate but i'm sorry to say that the people that attended, the performers, the sponsors and fellow members of the press that we spoke to were all very disappointed.




The Big thing here in the UK at the moment is the X Factor, one of my favourites Laura got kicked off a few weeks ago. This caused alot of contrivercy here in the UK but it was annouced a little while back that she will now be managed by Ms Cole. So i'm we will be hearing from Laura soon.



Keeping with the X Factor theme; I just want to give a huge shout out to Rachel Hylton who got kick off the X-Factor last week. Even though she has had her ups and downs she has been great on the show and i wish her the best of luck! Keep doing your thing rach and hopefully one day i'll be bloging about your debut single and/or album.

Britney Spears' New Album

The official album cover and track-listing for Britney Spear's forthcoming album 'Circus' were unveiled on the Pop star's official website today. Airbrushed to the nines, but still a great shot all the same. Check out the track-listing for the set, which hits stores on December 2nd, below:

New Song: Justin Timberlake - Magic

A new Justin Timberlake track, 'Magic', surfaced today. It is believed the Stargate produced cut will feature on the Justin's 3rd studio album - which is pencilled in for a 2009 release. I'm actually feeling the track, It's very funky-fresh. As one of those who felt Justin's last LP 'FutureSex LoveSounds' was really overrated, I was only feeling like a few tracks. I'm hoping 'Magic' is indicative of the quality that we can expect from this new album.

How Bad Do You Want It?

So recently it's become clear to me that majority of people seems to want to break into the entertainment industry. Every single day i get atleast one person (who i use to know back in the day, who never actually believed in me and never believed that i could make it) asking me to help them achieve this. They're always like 'Yo Ish, Bring Me In' and i always have the same reply 'Bring you into what?'

People seem to have this idea that it's an easy thing to break into this industry and not many people want to actually work for their goals, they just want to ride the tail coats of everyone else, whos worked hard to make it. Don't get me twisted there are alot of people who spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week trying to break into this industry and these people i would be more then happy to help if i can but then you get those little idiots that think that this is just some easy ride and an easy way to make money believe me IT'S NOT!

This job is not as glam as it comes across, don't get me wrong i love what i do and i can't see myself doing anything else but it takes alot of 24 hour days to achieve half of what i've achieved and im only half there, so imagine what it takes to get to the top!

Shannon Quit Danity Kane?

After all the drama in Making The Band, with the axing of Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods from Danity Kane is it is now being reported that remaining member Shannon Bex has decided to quit the Platinum selling group. According to Z100 Elvis Duran, Bex has left the once-five piece band as a direct result of the all drama and uncertainty surrounding the group's future.

Despite all these supposed line-up changes, I still haven't come to terms with the idea of the ladies being no more. I am hoping that my theroy of a PR stunt is true and that there will be a 'reconciliation' by the next season of Making The Band.

My boy sam from That Grape Juice has an interview with D.Woods this week so i'll be getting all the inside gossip and off the record info about whats really going on from him. I promise to let all of you know as soon as i know, As long as you keep reading!

Beyonce - House of Dereon

Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles unveiled their latest range in the House of Dereon line at a Bloomingdale's store in New York City the other night.

I have to say that i completly love House of Dereon! Alot of you may have not come across this brand in the UK, but let me tell it is awesome! They do make some great clothes, i recently brought one of my friends an outfit from their line and she totally loved it.

Beyonce looked great on the night wearing this sexy black dress Jay-Z is a very lucky man!

Her booty seems to have got alot more sexier (if that is possible) then it has done lately,

Introduction

Hey people,

for those of you that don't know my name is ishmail and this my first blog so I thought it would be good just to introduce myself.

So, you might be asking yourself why i've decided to start a blog, maybe it's because i hope that lots of people will start following it and that i will then get famous... No that aint the reason, you see i was talking to my artists and close friend Harmonay today and she was telling me about her blog and it inspired me. So i thought that this would be a nice way to tell those of you that want to know and those of you who are too nosey and can't help yourself what i have been getting up to and what i have recently learnt.

So lets start......

Well recently i've been finding out about the ugly side of the music and media business as a whole. I've noticed that alot of people always aim to bring you down and that you can't trust no one. Harmonay mentioned something about a circle in her blog and i've also realised this lately.

I now keep a very tight circle of people that i trust around me, however how do i know if i can really trust all these people? All of them have already proved themself time and time again and have helped me get through some tough situations but if i've learnt anything this year it's that even those close to you can be blinded by greed and jelousy.

Until recently i had a very close female friend (my dear if you are reading this then you know who you are) this girl went through everything with me she was my close friend and work buddy. I always use to look out for her best interest and hook her up when ever i could, but eventually this certain friend seemed to start competing with me and jelousy had blinded her. She started fronting and acting like i was holding her back some how. After we parted ways and stopped working together it turned ugly and she seem to want to completly take me out of this game.

Now, that was hard for me to take because i couldn't understand why someone that i had trusted so much and that i was so close to me would want to do something like this. it wasn't until i looked at the situation that i realised that jelousy, hate and a very strong erge for power had made this person end up wanting to distroy or take everything i had worked to so hard to gain.

This brings me to the question can you really trust anyone?

Anyways i'm going to leave you with that question, think about and give me a shout if you think you have an answer.

Lastly, i just want to give a shout to a young lady who i recently met. This girl is one of the hardest working girls i have ever come across and she has alot of talent, it is great to see a young female who isn't trying to be gangster or act like a rude gal, who isn't just wasting there life or acting like a complete slut. Shout out to you baby girl.
